History: John Blake was an inmate at a prison camp in a farmer district.
It is not known what Blake did in order to land in the Slam, but it is known that he was the most rebellious convict in the camp. He was constantly planning escapes, but due to having a snitch among the prisoners, he was always captured and sent to the hot box. Then came the day where a convict named David was brought in for vagrancy. At first, Blake started suspecting that David was the "Fink", but David found out that the "Fink" was one of Blake's men, Harris. He told Doc Alden about it and they planned to expose him to the other cons.
Once Harris was exposed, the Hulk appeared and the convicts decided to take advantage of the situation and beat up Warden Holt and his men. Blake called the papers and told them that Holt and his men were paid by local farmers to let the cons do their work. Holt was tried and sentenced for life, while Blake and Doc Alden went out into the world, finally free from the Slam.
Now, Blake works at a construction facility. Although he knows about Blake's past as a con, facility foreman Mark Jones has a lot of respect for the man due to the fact that he never tolerates any injustice and will help others in their jobs. However, Blake still wants to find David in order to thank him for helping him escape and bust Holt's operation.
