Image/Appearance:
SPIDER-BOY
PETE
History: An attempt by Project Cadmus to create a clone of Super-Soldier with the ability to control gravity was sabotaged, and a young clone of researcher Peter Parker (who was killed during the "accidental" lab explosion) emerged from the wreckage. The young boy immediately ran up a wall in confusion. The head of the project, General Thunderbolt Ross, feeling sorry for the clone and responsible for the boy's welfare, legally adopted him (giving the boy the last name of Ross) and named him Pete (after his genetic father).
Pete and his "Uncle Gen" were a happy family until General Ross was killed by a mugger. Pete swore that he would face danger no matter how big and make himself the center of attention so others wouldn't have to be, feeling he had been dismissed as just a boy during the incident. Inspired by his spider-like ability to walk on walls, he fashioned a costume and called himself Spider-Boy.
However, before he could start his life of crime-fighting, he was sent into this reality and now, he's completely alone. He decided to become a copyboy at the Daily Globe. However, this hasn't decreased his feelings of worthlessness. He tries to hide it with quips and humor, but the fact that he basically was considered a nobody working for a newspaper depresses him more than his origin as a clone. The fact that Thunderbolt Ross in this reality is completely different compared to his reality's "Uncle Gen" makes him feel even more out-of-place. He also tries hard to get a date with April Maye and make her proud of him, but he always feels like he's going to ruin everything. He has also started developing feelings for Sarah Stacy, daughter of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, which complicates things even more.
Equipment: Web-Pistol, Legion Anti-Grav Ring, Spider-Boy Mask and Wig
Powers: Originally designed to be able to control gravity, Spider-Boy's powers were altered during the sabotage (since the cloning process wasn't complete). He can increase his own personal gravity so that he is pulled towards large objects, and can therefore walk up walls and buildings. He can focus gravity inwards to increase the energy of his muscles, and boost his strength and speed to superhuman levels, or lower gravity around himself to jump much higher than a normal human can.
Skills: Pete is a very good investigator and reporter. He is also a very good acrobat, hand-to-hand combatant and sharpshooter.
Weaknesses: Mortal. Despite his wisecracking nature, Pete is incredibly insecure and constantly doubts his own abilities, to the point where he tends to be constantly afraid of making a mistake that could cost so many lives. He also considers himself inferior to everyone else around him due to his origins.
Trivia (optional):
-His real hair color is blonde. He doesn't dye it, and as Spider-Boy, he uses a wig.
-He's 5'8" tall.
