History: Hot Rod used to be an everyday kid with dreams. Orphaned when he was too young to remember Hot Rod went to the Simfur academy where he was just ignored by other kids except one, his girlfriend Velocity. However, one day, she was captured and had a self-destruct device implanted on her in case anyone tried to break her out before they could experiment on her. Hot Rod rescued her, but the self-destruct mechanism activated automatically and Velocity jumped from the roof of the Simfur academy. This incident left Hot Rod so damaged psychologically that he decided to exile himself to the Cybertronian desert.
On the desert he hunted for turbofoxes and lived a harsh life, until one day, scouting around Iacon for supplies, he found that it had been totally destroyed. He looked around and found that the only survivor was a young pink girl named Arcee. Hot Rod took good care of Arcee and they both became instant friends. They were soon captured by the forces of Straxus and almost sent to the Smelting Pool, but they both fought their way out and sent Straxus hurtling into the Pool. After that, Optimus Prime heard about Hot Rod's bravery and gave him a position on the Elite Guard.
Things on the Elite Guard were quite strained for the young recruit. He was constantly chewed up by commanding officers and treated with scorn by top leaders after he was assigned to lead a dangerous mission to the desert, where his platoon was ambushed by Decepticon Drones. This incident increased Hot Rod's PTSD, and now, there was no way to fix his psychological damage. He then disobeyed orders after Arcee had been captured and they were both kicked out of the Guard and considered a disgrace.
However, Optimus Prime secretly assigned Hot Rod to search for the Creation Matrix. With the help of Arcee and veteran Autobot Detective Nightbeat, Hot Rod found the Matrix and became Rodimus Prime. Despite his new form, Rodimus still was scorned by the people of Cybertron. Because of that, he decided to leave the planet and arrived on Earth. With him, came Daytonus, Nautica and Rodimus' lover during his Elite Guard days, Angel. They also took two Nebulan warriors with them, Firebolt and Parsec. An astute scientist, Firebolt is both apprehensive and excited about having left the scholarly life to fight against tyranny alongside the adventurous yet troubled Rodimus Prime.
Equipment: Photon Lasers (Hot Rod), Electrostatic Discharge Rifle/Firebolt (Hot Rod and Rodimus), Photon Eliminator (Rodimus Prime)
Powers: As Rodimus, he is the keeper of the Creation Matrix, a powerful relic with the ability to light the Autobots' darkest hour. The Matrix also allows him to contact his fellow Autobots whenever Rodimus can't use a comm-link and it can also be used to repair damaged Autobots in battle. He's quite fast in vehicle mode. Firebolt becomes an electrostatic discharge rifle that is usable in both of Rodimus Prime's modes.
Skills: Rodimus is quite adept at Math. It was his favorite subject back at the Simfur academy. He is also a safecracker and thanks to the Creation Matrix, he's also a healer. Firebolt is a highly intelligent scientist specializing in atomic physics.
Weaknesses: Although very powerful and inspiring, Rodimus has very deep confidence problems deep down, resulting in him sometimes having bouts of depression and frustration. His compassion for other beings can put him in danger at times. He also suffers from PTSD. He constantly has flashes to horrible moments in his life, and they even haunt him in his nightmares. Firebolt is just learning how to be an effective soldier and is prone to making mistakes.
Trivia (optional):
-Firebolt still wonders why he and Rodimus have the same voice.
-Rodimus is 6'1" tall in human form. Firebolt is 6'.
