NIGHTBEAT (ROBOT FORM)
NIGHTBEAT (HUMAN FORM)
MUZZLE (REGULAR APPEARANCE)
MUZZLE (EXO-SUIT)
History: Nightbeat was a former law enforcement agent. He has brought down many Cybertronian criminal operations, including that of Thunderhoof. Because of this, he was retired from duty due to having been marked by every low-life mob boss in Cybertron!!! Nightbeat wasn't pleased with this, and decided to become a private investigator. After many succesful cases, Optimus Prime came in and asked Nightbeat to join the Autobots. Despite being used to working alone and his gruff demeanor, Nightbeat accepted the offer because he knew that he and the Autobots had similar goals. Optimus assigned him to be the mentor of two young cadets - Hot Rod and Arcee!!! Nightbeat reluctantly accepted, but he immediately became fond of the two youngsters and took them under his wing. Nightbeat and the two Autobots went to Earth in order to investigate an S.O.S. signal coming from Quebec. There, they found Autobot Minerva and Nightbeat started developing feelings towards the young up-and-coming nurse, despite being much older than her. Then, Hot Rod, Nightbeat and Arcee were assigned to find the Creation Matrix and Nightbeat's experience really helped the younger Autobots a lot in their adventure. After Hot Rod was turned into Rodimus Prime, Nightbeat was made second-in-command of the Protectors, defenders of Earth. When Minerva told him about her feelings, he immediately admitted that despite being much older than her, he also had feelings toward her, and they've been dating ever since.
Muzzle worked as a detective on Nebulos until he was framed in a scandal that put him out of business. When he found out that an Autobot experienced in detective work was looking for a Nebulan partner, Muzzle immediately volunteered. He considered this an opportunity to continue doing what he loved to do the most. After undergoing the bio-engineering procedure that allows him to convert to an Autobot head module, Muzzle quickly discovered that he and Nightbeat have one of the smoothest-working binary bonds among all the Headmasters. Muzzle's eye for detail makes Nightbeat an even better detective than before.
Now, after being exiled from Cybertron and with Rodimus running away after having a PTSD-induced breakdown, Nightbeat is leading the Protectors.
Tough, no-nonsense type. Sometimes breaks rules in order to get what he wants. Works best when he works alone. As comfortable driving down a dark alley as he is on a well-lit, six-lane superhighway. Carries two photon pistols and a plasma blaster with an infra-red sight. Also equipped with visual and audio sensors. Usually gets by with just cool-headed logic.
Equipment: Plasma Blaster, Photon Pistols
Powers: Nightbeat carries two photon pistols and a high-powered plasma blaster with infra-red sight. He also has enhanced audio and video sensors that aid in his investigatory work. From five miles away, he can hear a screw fall and count the threads on it. In car mode he can travel at speeds of up to 620 miles per hour and has a range of 1500 miles.
Skills: Nightbeat and Muzzle are experienced tough-as-nails detectives. They won't stop investigating until a case is solved and they both have a great eye for detail.
Weaknesses: Nightbeat's overconfidence in his abilities typically persuades him that he can handle almost any situation by himself. Given his preference for working alone, he often suffers damage that a more team-oriented Autobot might avoid.
Trivia (optional):
-Nightbeat is 6'2" tall in robot mode. Muzzle is 5'11".
