History: In another reality, Ultron-11 was caught up and seemingly lost in the struggle known as the Secret War. In Ultron-11’s absence the automated facilities of his headquarters had completed the experiment Ultron-11 and activated Ultron-12. Ultron-12’s psychology was from the beginning somewhat more reasonable than that of the previous Ultrons. He allied with the Grim Reaper to form a new version of the Masters of Evil, an equal partnership that would have been unthinkable before.
He initially sought to destroy the Vision and then the rest of the West Coast Avengers before embarking again on his typical genocidal plans. He focused again on Hank Pym when that hero intervened in the Masters’ plans. Though the West Coast Avengers eventually triumphed and captured most of the Masters, Ultron-12 escaped.
Inspired by Hank Pym’s courage while facing the Masters, Ultron-12’s evolved programming made another leap. He overcame what he characterized as the adolescent need to assert his independence over his father.
He now sought to make peace with Pym and become a true son to him, altering his name to Ultron Mark Twelve as an allusion to his growing humanization. After weeks of secret conversations, Pym finally agreed to meet Mark and was hesitantly convinced of his sincerity.
Mark took Pym to the Ultimatum Inc. site so he could bear witness as he rejected his life of crime for one of scientific experimentation. Unfortunately for them, Ultron-11’s head had returned in Mark’s absence and reclaimed a new body.
Ultron-11 exploited the non-adamantium joints of their construction to twist Mark’s head off before taking Pym to a different part of the lab for execution. Mark was able to commandeer another incomplete Ultron body lying nearby and sought help from Wonder Man.
Sadly the time it took for Mark to properly attach his head cost his father his life. He arrived too late to save Hank, but right on time to avenge him. Ultron-11 was violently destroyed by wonder Man and Mark, who went on a crusade to wipe all all of his bases to destroy any trace of the evil Ultron. When he was done he returned to the Avengers and asked to take his Father's place. As a sign of faith he dismantled his Encephelo Beam, confirmed by his Tony Stark to be so. He changed his name to Mark Pym and added his Father's Pym Particles and ant communication systems to him so that he might properly serve as his Father's successor.
As with many a portal pulled Mark in, arriving at our Avengers Mansion. After a one sided attack Mark managed to talk the Avengers down and make his case...as he was able to reach out to this world's still living Hank Pym. Once he was checked out and his memories studied to confirm his story, the Avengers made a call: They would induct him into the group to make sure he not only is on the up and up, but that he stays safe if he is. Slowly but Surely Mark is proving his worth to the team.
He now wound up in a new world, pulled in with various worlds and another "Marvel" reality, where some of the people are not the same. He went off to try and assess new threats, but was nearly killed by Sinistron, Overlord, Deathsaurus and their allies. Now he seeks to gain help to defeat this new threat.
Weapons: Suction-Vortex: A more whimsical addition to Mark’s arsenal is his suction-vortex, which can vacuum very small objects into a holding capsule in his fingertip from a distance. He often uses this after shrinking foes with his Pym Particle Pods.
Pym Particle Pods: Mark has weaponized the Pym Particles, allowing him to throw pods that release a small amount of particles to shrink down his targets for capture. He tends to do this when a foe is secured.
Energy Beams: Ultron has standard energy blasters built into his hands. They are powerful enough to knock Iron Man 2020 out of the air in one shot.
Powers:
Insect Communicator: Mark's antennae allow him to commune with Ants and other such insects, allowing him to command them at will, He replaced his Encephalo-Bean equipment with this.
Size Changing: He can grow and shrink like his father does with the same boons and limits minus anything biological like heart conditions, as Mark is a robot.
Armor: Mark's plating is made of pure Adamantium, making his exterior virtually invulnerable. He is weaker around the joints but has worked to strengthen them after Ultron 11's exploit.
Flight: Ultron can fly at considerable speeds, enough so that his Avengers have had difficulty pursuing him. (Or ours keeping up with him.)
Enhanced Strength: His Wonder Man noted that Ultron’s punches subsequently hit “like Thor’s Hammer!” and were powerful enough to simultaneously stun both Wonder Man and Thor in a single attack. This puts him in Class 100 Strength levels.
Energy Siphon: His newly-installed power siphons allowed him to drain energy from other devices such as Iron Man 2020’s armor.
Molecular Rearranger: Having incorporated the molecular rearranger into his body in order to reshape his adamantium form as desired, Mark can also use that device to momentarily transform himself into a large blast of pure ionic force.
Mechanical Control: Mark possesses limited short range technopathy, which is stronger when he is attached or in direct contact with said machinery. His ran is about 10 meters
Skill: Mark is a gifted mechanical, robotic and biological genius, as well as a top chemist and physicist, having taken over his father's studies. He has studied most forms of combat by watching Captain America train.
Weaknesses: Mark is not as dangerous as normal Ultron due to his removal of various weapons. He is magnetic.
Trivia (Optional):
- This Ultron existed in the West Coast Avengers comic. In the actual one, his head was badly wired tot he drone body, which eventually shorted him out, but he saved Hank in a timely manner. Hank took his death very hard, and Ultron-13 proved to be as douchey as 11. I did a what if style twist and saved Mark instead to allow some plot and pathos.
- His Hawkeye called him Ant-tron due to his modifications, Mark didn't mind.
- I look forward to seeing what is done with the in reality Ultron 12...if we get there.
