Frost:
Unmasked:
History: An orphaned Cryomancer who grew up alone ont he streets,t he Woman who came to call herself Frost had a rough life. She grew up trusting no one, living by her own rules and under her own power. Frost later confronted Cassie Cage in the ring of a deathmatch fight club, something the young woman came to involve herself in in order to get money to get by. The announcer reveals Frost has twenty-one wins and no losses, with thirteen of her matches being flawless victories and all twenty-one ending in fatalities. When Frost enters the ring, she is unimpressed by Cassie.
Frost dominates her match with Cassie. As Frost prepares to finish Cassie however, Cassie knocks her down with a headbutt and sweep kick and knocks her out with a submission hold. While Frost lays unconscious, the crowd and announcer demand Cassie finish her. Cassie reluctantly complies when her friend Jacqui Briggs is held at gunpoint and places her foot on the unconscious cryomancer's throat.
Frost is saved from death by the arrival of the Black Dragons and her body is moved by Cassie and Jacqui. When the Special Forces arrive later, Frost is seen being carried off by emergency workers.
Frost recovers some time later and is approached by the thunder god Raiden, informed of a 'tournament' to be held by the new Lin Kuei under her fellow cryomancer Kuai Liang. Frost travels to Arctika and finds Kuai meditating before a Buddhist statue. Frost attempts to greet Kuai from behind, only to find herself flipped onto her back.
Annoyed and shocked to be so easily subdued, Frost explains to a confused Kuai that Raiden sent her for the tournament, and attempts to use her ice powers on Kuai while explaining the tournament is to audition and show off their talents, only for Kuai to ignore her attack and hold her wrists in place before seeing all the other kombatants that have arrived as well. Kuai allows all the fighters to stay and compete, though stresses, to Frost in particular, that they are not to attack him. Frost complies and follows Kuai and the other fighters off. She won the tournament and earned the right to join as Sub-Zero's personal student.
Under the watchful eye, the overly ambitious girl had begun her cryomancer training, but she made no secret that she sought to become Grandmaster herself one day...and a few times even made attempts to take the Dragon Medellin from Sub-Zero, only to be subdued. Sub-Zero saw potential in her, which is why he had not yet expel her or take her down. Perhaps he sees the chance to save her from herself that he did not have with Bi-Han some wonder?
Equipment: Makes her own weapons.
Powers: While certainly not on par with that of Sub-Zero's, Frost's cryokinetic powers are extremely potent. Rather than relying on freezing the opponent directly, she freezes a large area of the ground in front of her, thereby increasing her range and improving her odds of connecting with an enemy. She can also slide into the opponent and knock them down, as well as execute an uppercut by teleporting away from the opponent and reappearing behind them. Finally, her freezing powers allow her to create two small daggers made of pure, concentrated ice that she uses in battle. Overall, she may not be as powerful as her mentor, but she makes up for it with her superior speed and strategic potential. Her Freeze Shatter Fatality is performed by Frost completely freezing her opponent solid, then kicking their upper torso, which breaks off and shatters upon impact with the ground.
Skills: Her main fighting style is Tong Bei. Her second fighting style is Yuan Yang.
Weaknesses: Frost is over confident in herself and her powers and has a bad habit of underestimating her foes, a fact Sub-Zero has used to keep her in check time and again. She is also vengeful, and her grudges can cause her to lose sight of what she has to do.
Trivia:
- She does not get along with Sonya due to a past altercation, likely related a follow up to her encounter with Cassie
- She calls Sub Zero Sifu.
